Michael Nord

Founding Partner

Mr. Nord is the founding partner of NordLaw. The firm was originally founded as Nord & Associates on January 1, 1990. Prior to founding Nord & Associates, Mr. Nord was a partner with the Middlesex County, NJ law firms of Deutch, Shur & Nord and Venturi, Nord & Brockway. 

Previous to becoming a partner with Venturi, Nord & Brockway, Mr. Nord was associated with the law firms of Ravin, Davis & Sweet and Greenbaum, Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith, Ravin, Davis & Bergstein.

He has extensive experience litigating and counseling clients in the areas of complex commercial litigation, construction, business disputes, personal injury, insurance disability claims, franchise disputes, and contract disputes of every conceivable nature. He is the attorney to whom other attorneys refer complex commercial litigation matters.

He has tried over 50 jury trials to verdict and bench trials to judgment and has litigated cases in both State and Federal Courts.

In his Appellate practice, Mr. Nord has handled all aspects of successful cases for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is also adept at Alternative Dispute Resolutions and has lectured on the topic and has appeared for the New Jersey State Bar Association as one of two panel members for a public television broadcast on the topic.

Mr. Nord prides himself on his relationships with his clients. These relationships extend back to the inception of his practice. He has learned that the way to be successful in this business is to be responsive to his clients’ needs. In this respect, he has been relentless in pursuing his clients’ rights over the years and has developed a reputation of being a fierce, but fair adversary.

Perhaps Mr. Nord is best known for his expertise concerning the NJ Construction Lien, Municipal Lien, and Bond Acts. He has lectured extensively on these topics. He is known in the industry as the “go-to” lawyer for suppliers of building and electrical materials. He has provided input with regard to the current Construction Lien Laws and has been asked for his input with regard to potential revisions to Legislation concerning the New Jersey Trust Fund Act.​

Prior Relevant Experience

Has personally tried over 50 Superior Court cases to verdict. Retained as an expert in legal malpractice and Fee Arbitration disputes. Has appeared on Public Television for the NJ State Bar Association as one of two panelists on the topic of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Involved in revising and commenting on proposed Legislation concerning the Construction Lien Law, Municipal Lien Law, Municipal Bond Act and Trust Fund Act. Awarded Pro Bono Service Certificate by the Middlesex County Bar Association.

Adam Nord
Attorney

Adam Nord joined the firm in 2014. Adam is originally from East Brunswick and
attended East Brunswick High School. He graduated from Ithaca College in 2008
with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics. Adam then attended Western New England
University School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts.
